4:53p - Gibson
There's a legend about Walter Gibson, the writer best known for creating The Shadow in the 1930s. Gibson was a fast writer, cranking out 50,000 word novels every two weeks in between a myriad of other assignments. How fast was he? It's said that he used to write at a desk with three typewriters lined up in front of him. As one typewriter overheated and locked up from his lightning-fast fingers, he would move on down the desk to the next and keep writing.
This week, I burned out my first computer keyboard.
Okay, I'm no Walter Gibson, but I'll still take this a writerly badge of honor.
