9:07a - Platt brings home the Gold!
We fought the traffic from hell to get there, but our automotive efforts proved worthwhile Friday night, as projects I wrote took home four gold awards and two silver awards in the 30th annual Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association awards. Three of these were "excellence in writing" awards, one of which was for a 100,000-word web site I not-so-jokingly call "my first novel." All of the awards were for projects I am extremely proud of, and one press release even won in two categories, which was totally unexpected.
We were up against some tough competition, including some top agencies and several national and international clients. To think that our little non-profit, in-house creative group did so well in the awards is tremendously satisfying.
To have four of the awards sitting on my kitchen table right now is even more satisfying. Unfortunately, I have to bring them back into the office tomorrow. Don't worry, I'll take plenty of pictures before I do.
(And yes, I'll make my boss order some duplicates for me to keep at home later on.)
