11:55a - Updates from Exhaustion-ville
I have attended far too few GSHW meetings over the past year, but I swore -- swore -- that this past Saturday's meeting was the one meeting I would not, under any circumstances, miss.
And yet miss it I did, through a bizarre comedy of errors which involved oversleeping, an out-of-date map, a 22-car funeral procession, a tour-bus full of nuns, a half-hour detour in search of a restroom, a case of mistaken identity, and the world's worst street signs.
And so I missed Tom & Elizabeth Monteleone and the rest of the GSHW. But I gained enough writing fodder to last me for the next six months.
Even trade, I guess.

In other writing news, the latest edition of BARE BONE has been released, along with my short story "The Clown Walks at Midnight." It's available now through Shocklines and Project Pulp. Check it out.

When I wasn't wandering around god-knows-where this past weekend, we did manage to catch up on a few worth-mentioning flicks (I was too tired to do much else), including Saved!, A Day Without A Mexican, and The Forgotten. While none of them are among the greatest films of all time, each reached just a little bit higher than most Hollywood movies, and so all three receive my recommendation.
(For what it's worth.)
###
Currently reading: Seamonsters & Superheroes (disappointing and rather mean-spirited) and Freakonomics (mind-blowing).
Currently working on: Trying to get off my ass long enough to send out a few submissions.
Currently wishing I was: napping.

More later!
